August 1, 2009 Our Grand Finale
was a bit warm... and not so grand. It was our smallest turn out
of the series and by far our hottest. 104 with an east wind that
would all but knock you over. The brave few saw Kelly snatch
victory from a hard charging Wayne right at the end. Otherwise it
was a fairly docile group with not much action, mostly just trying to
survive in the heat. At the BBQ Kelly was awarded the 2009 Series
Champion and Sonia was our top female finisher. A big thanks to
Moses Lake Multi sport for supporting the sport and Kelly and Janice
Moore for hosting the BBQ! Congratulations to everyone who came
out night after night to participate in Ephrata's 2009 Summer Criterium Series!

Final Crit Saturday Aug. 1 at 5:00 pm BBQ to follow
BBQ flyer
July 28, 2009 It was another hot one! We had a great
turnout despite the heat. We even had a few Velo club guys
from Wenatchee. As the ride got started things were running smooth
enough until a pile up in turn two took out Brian and Scott. No
major injuries, just road rash. Brian and Scott actually finished
the ride... brutal. The group was nice enough to wait up
for myself and a few others after the crash. From there on
it was a lot of Kelly setting the pace with the occasional break to
real in. At the finish Kelly started early, I took off
and got by him (barley), just then Lauren came blasting by and we
were all tapped out. Nice sprint Lauren. Great ride in the
heat everyone! Hope our crash test dummies heal quick! See
you all this Saturday for the Grand Finale at 5:00 pm

July 21, 2009 Hot Crit! It was a sizzler out there tonight,
but that didn't slow down the Kelly and Garth freight train. It
did however slow down someone whose name we won't mention. Other
than that it was a pretty nice evening. Way to get through the
heat everyone. Thanks Sonia for the cherries and Dale for the
Gatorade.

July 14, 2009 We had some great weather tonight! I didn't
know how to ride without the 30 mph wind we're accustomed to. I
heard of many folks getting new pr's tonight, very cool. We had a
little excitement up front, last weeks winner Kelly had a front tire
losing air, he was able to limp along and finish with the group but he
wasn't full speed. On the last lap Andy and Sonia jumped off the
front on the back stretch. Wayne passed them and began sprinting
at the last corner, then Garth took off. By the time I got going
Wayne was gone. Oh well, seven more days to try and figured it
out, this thing we call Criterium. Thanks Sonia for the cherries
and Dale for the Gatorade.

July 7, 2009 Tonights gusty winds sure didn't stop 36 die hards
from racking up the laps in our first crit of the year. I saw
many have improved since last year too. (myself not included)
Congrats to Kelly on the win. Thanks Sonia for the cherries and
Dale for the Gatorade. See you next week.
