At Vicious Cycle we love mountain bike racing- lung busting climbs, rock gardens, rippin' singletrack- there's something special about racing in the dirt, something that we are thrilled to be a part of. Our goal is to get people stoked on mountain bike racing, pretty simple really. Vicious Cycle events are real mountain bike races brought to you by real mountain bike racers. We've added a new race, The Chainsmoker, giving more folks the opportunity to get out and get dirty!

The Chainsmoker
If you've never been to the Squilchucker back in the day you owe it to yourself to hit this one. Squilchuck State Park is a beautiful setting for this crazy event. You may find yourself planning a trip back to explore or pack a lunch and kick back in the sun when there's not a silly bike race in the middle of the day. I know I'll be back.

The Course
Update 5-3-10: I spent the weekend working on the course and riding and here are my findings. The course is brutal! At about 4.5 miles they're not the longest laps, but they manage to squeeze in close to 1000' of climbing per lap. What it it lacks in technical terrain it makes up for in steep burning climbs. With a blanket of pine needles covering everything some corners were kind of slick I noticed. Although the blanket of pine needle is kind of a welcome change from Beezley Burn's blanket of rocks and dust. Bottom line, the course is fast and you will find yourself at red line right from the gun... enjoy!

Schedule

9:30 am: Beginner 2 laps, First Timer/ 14& under 1 lap

10:30 am: Sport 3 laps

12:00 pm: Pro/ Open 5 laps, Expert 4 laps

12:30 pm: Shimano Free Kids Race!

$1000 Pro pay back. We will do everything we can to take care of our Pros!

Awards presented as each race finishes.

Course will be marked on Friday.

Directions

From West side: US 2 becomes Wenatchee Ave. Turn Right on Miller St. Turn Left on Chelan St. Chelan St. merges with Mission, continue on Mission, Mission becomes Squilchuck Rd. Continue 6.4 miles to Squilchuck State Park.
From East side: From WA 28 slight Left to WA 285 across bridge. Left on Mission St. Mission St. becomes Squilchuck Rd. Continue 6.4 miles to Squilchuck State Park.
